New day, new benchmarks. Today I've spun up some brand new instance from DigitalOcean and ran my world famous suite of benchmarking scripts. All instances were spun up with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS x64 and were created in or around the New York / New Jersey area. Time to see who showed up today.

Conclusion

From the friendly robots:

Upon comparing the two DigitalOcean instances, it's evident that the Premium Intel (2 GB, 2 Cores) instance excels in Redis benchmarks with high request per second (rps) and low latency across various operations, indicating robust performance in memory-intensive tasks. Meanwhile, the Premium AMD (4 GB, 2 Cores) instance offers better CPU performance with higher events per second and lower average latency, making it a suitable choice for CPU-intensive workloads. The AMD instance also has slightly better file I/O and memory performance metrics, although the Intel instance shows superior Redis list range operations. Therefore, the Premium Intel instance is ideal for applications that benefit from high Redis performance, while the Premium AMD instance is better for CPU-intensive tasks requiring more RAM.
