DigitalOcean Premium AMD (8 GB, 4 Cores) vs. Linode Nanode (1 GB)
My friend, I'm so glad you're here! Today I've spun up brand new instance from DigitalOcean and Linode and ran some benchmarks. Each instance was spun up with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS x64 and were created in the New York area (or close to it). Time to see who showed up today.

Conclusion
From the friendly robots:
The DigitalOcean Premium AMD instance provides stronger overall performance with higher CPU, RAM, and benchmark results across various metrics, such as Redis operations, file I/O, and MySQL operations, reflecting its superior capabilities for CPU-intensive tasks and workloads requiring substantial memory and I/O operations. In contrast, the Linode Nanode instance, though capable, offers limited CPU power and memory, resulting in lower benchmark scores. Ideal use cases for the DigitalOcean instance include high-demand applications, such as those requiring multi-threading and high memory usage, while the Linode Nanode may suffice for lighter, cost-sensitive tasks.
