DigitalOcean Premium AMD (8 GB, 4 Cores) vs. Linode Linode (4 GB)
Fresh benchmarks coming at ya. Today I've spun up brand new instance from DigitalOcean and Linode and ran some benchmarks. Each instance was running Ubuntu 24.04 LTS x64 and were created in the New York area (or close to it). Let's get into the numbers.

Conclusion
From the friendly robots:
The benchmark results from the DigitalOcean Premium AMD instance and the Linode G6 instance show distinct performance differences based on their specifications. The DigitalOcean instance, with its 4 cores and 8 GB of RAM, delivers impressive throughput and lower latency in Redis benchmarks, especially in operations like GET, LPOP, and RPOP, along with better overall CPU and memory handling, indicating superior performance in CPU-intensive and memory-bound tasks. On the other hand, the Linode G6 instance, featuring 2 cores and 4 GB of RAM, also performs well but lags slightly behind in high-throughput scenarios and exhibits higher latency in some Redis operations and slightly worse CPU and memory performance metrics, which might affect its suitability for CPU-heavy or memory-intensive workloads. For developers needing robust performance with lower latency in memory-bound and CPU-intensive tasks, the DigitalOcean instance appears more suitable, whereas the Linode G6 might be more appropriate for less demanding applications where cost is a significant factor.
