Conclusion

From the friendly robots:

Comparing the benchmark performance of the DigitalOcean Regular (2 GB) and Premium Intel (8 GB, 4 Cores) instances, the Premium Intel instance demonstrates significantly superior performance across most metrics. It achieves higher rates of operations per second (rps) for various Redis commands, exhibits lower latency, and provides more throughput for CPU, file I/O, memory operations, and MySQL benchmarks. The Premium Intel instance is ideal for CPU-intensive, memory-heavy, and I/O-heavy workloads, particularly those that benefit from higher RAM and multi-core processing. The Regular (2 GB) instance, while more cost-effective, is more suitable for less demanding applications where lower resource consumption is sufficient.
