Fresh benchmarks coming at ya. Today I've spun up some brand new instance from DigitalOcean and did some benchmarking. All instances were running Ubuntu 24.04 LTS x64 and were created in or around the New York / New Jersey area. Let's get into the numbers.

Conclusion

From the friendly robots:

Upon analyzing the benchmark results of both DigitalOcean instances, it's evident that the Regular (2 GB) instance outperforms the Regular (1 GB) in most categories, especially in Redis operations, where it shows higher requests per second (rps) and lower latency across various commands. It also performs better in file I/O operations with higher throughput and lower average latency. However, both instances have similar CPU performance and memory handling, with slight differences in latencies that don't significantly impact overall performance. The Regular (2 GB) instance is ideal for CPU-intensive and I/O-heavy workloads due to its increased RAM, which will likely result in better handling of memory-intensive tasks and larger datasets, making it a more suitable choice for applications requiring higher resource allocation and performance.
