DigitalOcean Regular (8 GB, 4 Cores) vs. Vultr Cloud Compute (8 GB, 4 Cores)
New day, new benchmarks. Today I've spun up brand new instance from DigitalOcean and Vultr and ran some benchmarks. Each instance was spun up with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS x64 and were created in or around the New York / New Jersey area. Let's get into the numbers.

Conclusion
From the friendly robots:
After comparing the benchmarks of DigitalOcean's Regular (8 GB, 4 Cores) instance and Vultr's Cloud Compute (8 GB, 4 Cores) instance, both providers show strong performance, but they have different strengths. DigitalOcean excels in Redis operations, showing notably higher request per second (rps) and lower latencies across most benchmarks, particularly for complex commands like LRANGE. Vultr's instance, however, performs better in raw CPU operations and provides slightly higher throughput in memory operations and file I/O. Given these results, DigitalOcean is better suited for applications heavily reliant on Redis operations, while Vultr would be more advantageous for workloads emphasizing CPU efficiency and high file I/O throughput.
