Linode Nanode (1 GB) vs. Linode Linode (8 GB)
My friend, I'm so glad you're here! Today I've spun up brand new instance from Linode and did some benchmarking. All instances were running Ubuntu 24.04 LTS x64 and all resided in or around the New York / New Jersey area. Without further ado, here's the results.

Conclusion
From the friendly robots:
Based on the benchmark results, the Linode (8 GB) instance outperforms the Linode Nanode (1 GB) in most metrics, offering higher throughput, lower latency, and better performance across various benchmarks, which can be attributed to its four CPU cores and 8 GB of RAM compared to the single core and 1 GB of RAM in the Nanode. The Nanode excels in scenarios requiring minimal resources and budget constraints, while the Linode (8 GB) instance is better suited for more demanding applications that require higher CPU, memory, and I/O throughput. The Linode (8 GB) instance is ideal for workloads that benefit from more computational power and memory, such as large-scale data processing, intensive database operations, or high-traffic web services.
