My friend, I'm so glad you're here! Today I've spun up some brand new instance from Linode and Vultr and ran my world famous suite of benchmarking scripts. All instances were spun up with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS x64 and were created in the New York area (or close to it). Without further ado, here's the results.

Conclusion

From the friendly robots:

The Linode Nanode (1 GB) provides robust performance for Redis operations with high request rates per second (rps) and low latency, making it ideal for applications requiring high Redis throughput. However, it struggles with larger LRANGE operations due to significant latency increases. The Vultr High Frequency Intel (8 GB, 3 Cores) excels in overall CPU performance with higher events per second, better file I/O throughput, and superior Redis rps, indicating it is better suited for CPU-intensive and I/O-heavy workloads. For users needing greater memory and CPU power, the Vultr instance is preferable, while the Linode Nanode is best for scenarios where high Redis performance is prioritized over other resource-intensive tasks.
