Fresh benchmarks coming at ya. Today I've spun up brand new instance from Linode and ran my world famous suite of benchmarking scripts. Each instance was spun up with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS x64 and were created in or around the New York / New Jersey area. Without further ado, here's the results.

Conclusion

After analyzing the benchmarks for both Linode instances, it's clear that the Linode (8 GB) outperforms the Linode (4 GB) across most metrics, particularly in CPU and Redis benchmarks where it shows significantly higher requests per second and lower latency, indicating better scalability and performance for CPU-intensive and I/O-heavy workloads. The Linode (4 GB) remains a cost-effective option for basic applications with lower resource demands, while the Linode (8 GB) is better suited for more demanding applications that require higher throughput and lower latency, making it ideal for high-performance tasks and larger datasets.
