Conclusion

From the friendly robots:

In comparing the Linode (4 GB) and Vultr Cloud Compute (8 GB, 4 Cores) instances, the Linode instance demonstrates superior performance in Redis benchmarks, achieving higher requests per second across various commands and lower average latencies, which is beneficial for applications requiring high-speed data access. However, the Vultr instance shows more consistent throughput in memory operations and lower average latencies in MySQL benchmarks, making it a good choice for database-intensive applications. The Vultr instance also has more RAM, which could be advantageous for workloads that require larger memory allocations. Considering cost and performance, Linode is preferable for high-throughput, low-latency data operations, while Vultr might be better suited for memory and database-heavy workloads.
