Linode Linode (4 GB) vs. Vultr High Performance AMD (1 GB)
Fresh benchmarks coming at ya. Today I've spun up brand new instance from Linode and Vultr and ran some benchmarks. All instances were running Ubuntu 24.04 LTS x64 and were created in the New York area (or close to it). Enough talk. Here's the data.

Conclusion

After careful analysis of the benchmark results, Linode's 4 GB instance with its 2 CPU cores and AMD EPYC 7713 processor excels in high-throughput tasks, especially with Redis operations, offering impressive read and write speeds as well as low latency in CPU and memory benchmarks, making it ideal for CPU-intensive, I/O-heavy workloads requiring substantial memory operations and low-latency response times. In contrast, Vultr's High Performance AMD instance with 1 CPU core and AMD EPYC-Genoa processor provides solid performance in less demanding scenarios, suitable for applications that don't require as much processing power but still need decent I/O performance and acceptable latency, making it a good choice for smaller, less resource-intensive applications or where cost-efficiency is a primary concern.
