Linode Linode (4 GB) vs. Vultr High Performance AMD (2 GB, 2 Cores)
My friend, I'm so glad you're here! Today I've spun up brand new instance from Linode and Vultr and ran my world famous suite of benchmarking scripts. All instances were spun up with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS x64 and were created in or around the New York / New Jersey area. Let's get into the numbers.

Conclusion
From the friendly robots:
Comparing the benchmark performance of Linode's 4 GB instance against Vultr's High Performance AMD 2 GB instance, it's clear that Linode excels in handling larger memory-intensive workloads, with significantly higher Redis performance metrics such as higher requests per second and lower latencies across various operations, alongside impressive CPU and file I/O benchmarks. Vultr, however, shows competitive CPU performance metrics, faster memory read latencies, and comparable file I/O throughputs. Linode's configuration is ideal for CPU-intensive and high-memory applications, while Vultr's slightly lower cost and competitive performance make it suitable for less demanding workloads or when budget constraints are a priority.
