Linode Linode (4 GB) vs. Vultr High Performance Intel (2 GB, 2 Cores)
Same showdown, different day. Today I've spun up brand new instance from Linode and Vultr and did some benchmarking. All instances were spun up with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS x64 and all resided in or around the New York / New Jersey area. Without further ado, here's the results.

Conclusion
From the friendly robots:
After analyzing the benchmark results, it is clear that the Vultr High Performance Intel instance exhibits superior performance in most metrics compared to the Linode 4 GB instance, particularly in Redis operations where it achieves higher requests per second (rps) and lower latency across various commands. The Vultr instance also performs better in CPU metrics, file I/O operations, and memory operations, showcasing faster reads and writes per second along with higher throughput. However, Linode shows a slight edge in thread fairness for file I/O and memory operations. Based on these metrics, the Vultr instance would be more suitable for CPU-intensive, I/O-heavy workloads that require high throughput and low latency, whereas the Linode instance might be better for balanced workloads needing moderate performance across various metrics.
