Conclusion

From the friendly robots:

After analyzing the benchmark results for both Linode's g6-standard-4 and Vultr's vc2-4c-8gb instances, Linode's offering demonstrates stronger performance in most metrics, especially in Redis benchmarks where it achieves higher requests per second and lower latencies across various operations like GET, SET, and LRANGE. Linode's file I/O operations are also more efficient, with faster throughput and lower latency, indicating better storage performance. CPU and memory operations also favor Linode, with slightly lower latencies and better thread fairness. However, Vultr shows competitive performance in MySQL operations and has a more budget-friendly monthly price. Overall, Linode is better suited for CPU-intensive, I/O-heavy workloads, while Vultr provides a good balance of performance and cost for general computing tasks.
