What the providers shipped

October 2025 was a month of incremental progress for VPS providers, with DigitalOcean finally getting Kubernetes NFS shares out the door and introducing network file storage for Atlanta. Meanwhile, Linode updated its Kubernetes Engine to v1.34, a move that feels like it should've happened a while ago. On the other hand, Vultr continues its relentless march of GPU overkill with a new eight-GPU multi-node config for DOKS, but it's the storage upgrades that really stand out. They've cranked up NVMe performance to ridiculous levels and added the ability to resize volumes live. The real kicker? They still offer a dizzying array of OS options and are now expanding their Inference API to support agent-style workflows. If this stuff doesn't move the needle for most developers, I don't know what will.
