DigitalOcean Regular (1 GB) vs. DigitalOcean Regular (2 GB)
New day, new benchmarks. Today I've spun up some brand new instance from DigitalOcean and ran my world famous suite of benchmarking scripts. All instances were running Ubuntu 24.04 LTS x64 and were created in the New York area (or close to it). Without further ado, here's the results.

Conclusion
From the friendly robots:
Based on the benchmark results, the DigitalOcean Regular (2 GB) instance outperforms the Regular (1 GB) instance across a variety of metrics. The 2 GB instance shows higher Redis RPS rates, slightly lower latencies, and greater file I/O throughput and efficiency. The improved RAM capacity likely contributes to these enhancements, offering a more responsive and capable performance for CPU-intensive, memory-demanding, or I/O-heavy workloads, making it ideal for high-performance applications that benefit from additional RAM and computational efficiency.
