Welcome to another round of the VPS Showdown. Today I've got brand new instances from DigitalOcean to run some benchmarks on. All instances were running Ubuntu 26.04 LTS x64 and were created in the New York area (or close to it). Without further ado, here's the results.

Conclusion
From the friendly robots:
The DigitalOcean Premium AMD (1 GB) instance outperforms the Regular (1 GB) in most benchmarks, particularly in Redis operations where it achieves higher requests per second (RPS) and significantly lower latencies, e.g., PING_INLINE RPS of 56850.48 vs 32051.28 and average latency of 0.557ms vs 0.969ms. In terms of CPU performance, the Premium AMD instance also shows better event handling with 1270.29 events per second compared to 843.27. For memory operations and file I/O, the Premium instance maintains high throughput and low latencies. Therefore, for CPU-intensive and memory-heavy workloads, the Premium AMD instance provides superior performance at a slightly higher cost.
