What the providers shipped

In October 2022, DigitalOcean doubled the rate limits for Spaces (a belated but appreciated move) and, finally, offered a Kubernetes database operator in beta because apparently the cloud needs more "beta" stuff. Also, the sweetspot of extra IOPS and throughput for volumes sounds promising but comes after a power cycle or reattachment — what a hassle. Meanwhile, UpCloud launched two new server plans: High CPU and High Memory variants, packing up to 64 cores and 384 GB of RAM, which feels a bit like a GPU-plan overkill for regular developers. The compute beef-up is nice but could use more sensible pricing to match.
