What the providers shipped
DigitalOcean is doubling down on their App Platform with Managed OpenSearch, a welcome addition if you’re looking to beef up your app’s data querying. Meanwhile, they've also rolled out a beta for multi-region global load balancers, which sounds fancy but in reality, it’s another step toward redundancy rather than innovation. Linode is showing its age by finally supporting CoreDNS autoscaling on its Kubernetes Engine, a feature that's been around longer than their "developers" claim it’s been in the works. UpCloud is trying to balance innovation with budget by releasing audit logs and launching low-cost developer Cloud Server plans, but at €4.50/month, it's hard to shake the feeling that they’re trying too hard to be trendy without making any substantial improvements. None of these updates are game-changers, but if you’ve been waiting for any of these features, here’s to hoping it wasn’t too long of a wait.
