UpCloud Balanced (1 GB) vs. Vultr High Performance AMD (1 GB)
Fresh benchmarks coming at ya. Today I spun up fresh instances from UpCloud and Vultr and ran my world famous suite of benchmarking scripts. Each instance was running Ubuntu 26.04 LTS x64 and all resided in or around the New York / New Jersey area. Without further ado, here's the results.

Conclusion
From the friendly robots:
The UpCloud Balanced (1 GB) instance outperforms the Vultr High Performance AMD (1 GB) instance across most benchmarks, especially in Redis operations where UpCloud achieves notably higher RPS (Requests Per Second) rates and lower latencies. For example, UpCloud's LPUSH achieves an RPS of 60,024 versus Vultr's 48,077, and its overall latency is consistently lower across various Redis commands. File I/O operations also show UpCloud's advantage with higher throughput rates and lower latencies. Despite Vultr's competitive pricing, UpCloud's superior performance in CPU-bound tasks makes it a better choice for users prioritizing performance over budget.
