DigitalOcean Regular (1 GB) vs. Vultr High Performance AMD (1 GB)
Same showdown, different day. Today I spun up fresh instances from DigitalOcean and Vultr and ran my world famous suite of benchmarking scripts. Each instance was running Ubuntu 26.04 LTS x64 and were created in or around the New York / New Jersey area. Let's get into the numbers.

Conclusion
From the friendly robots:
The Vultr High Performance AMD instance outperforms the DigitalOcean Regular instance in CPU and memory benchmarks, with significantly higher Redis operation rates per second and MySQL bulk insert transactions per second, showcasing better overall performance for compute-intensive and database-heavy tasks. Notably, the Vultr instance achieved 48263 RPS for Redis PING_INLINE and 235300 TPS for MySQL bulk inserts, outclassing the DigitalOcean instance which managed 4473 RPS for Redis PING_INLINE and 105310 TPS for MySQL bulk inserts, indicating it is better suited for CPU-heavy and memory-intensive applications.
