New day, new benchmarks. Today I've got brand new instances from DigitalOcean and Vultr and did some benchmarking. All instances were spun up with Ubuntu 26.04 LTS x64 and all resided in or around the New York / New Jersey area. Without further ado, here's the results.

Conclusion

From the friendly robots:

DigitalOcean's Regular (2 GB) instance outperforms Vultr's High Frequency Intel (1 GB) in most benchmarks, notably in Redis performance where it reaches higher requests per second and lower latency for operations like SET, GET, and INCR. The DigitalOcean instance also shows superior MySQL OLTP performance, with higher TPS for point selects and bulk inserts. This suggests that DigitalOcean is better for CPU-heavy tasks requiring consistent, low-latency performance, whereas Vultr, despite having higher raw CPU and memory throughput metrics, may not deliver as reliably in latency-sensitive operations, making it less ideal for such workloads.
