DigitalOcean Regular (2 GB) vs. Linode Linode (2 GB)
Fresh benchmarks coming at ya. Today I've spun up brand new instance from DigitalOcean and Linode and ran my world famous suite of benchmarking scripts. All instances were running Ubuntu 24.04 LTS x64 and were created in or around the New York / New Jersey area. Enough talk. Here's the data.

Conclusion
From the friendly robots:
Comparing the benchmarks for the DigitalOcean Regular (2 GB) and Linode Linode (2 GB) instances reveals that Linode's setup generally outperforms DigitalOcean in several areas, especially in Redis operations like GET, SET, and INCR, which show higher RPS and lower average latencies. Linode's CPU also demonstrates better thread fairness and slightly lower average latency. File I/O operations and MySQL benchmarks also favor Linode, indicating faster throughput and lower latencies. However, DigitalOcean's memory operations show comparable performance. Based on these results, Linode would be the better choice for workloads that benefit from higher throughput and lower latencies in CPU-intensive and I/O-heavy tasks, while DigitalOcean might be suitable for applications where memory operations are more critical.
