Welcome to another round of the VPS Showdown. Today I've got brand new instances from DigitalOcean and Linode to run some benchmarks on. All instances were spun up with Ubuntu 26.04 LTS x64 and were created in or around the New York / New Jersey area. Without further ado, here's the results.

Conclusion
From the friendly robots:
The DigitalOcean Premium Intel (2 GB) instance outperforms the Linode (2 GB) in almost all benchmarks, particularly in Redis operations, where the DigitalOcean instance achieves higher requests per second and lower latency across various commands. While Linode's CPU benchmark shows higher events per second, DigitalOcean excels in memory read and write operations and file IO throughput. For workloads prioritizing high I/O performance and low latency in memory operations, DigitalOcean is the better choice, but for CPU-bound tasks, Linode shows slightly better performance, making it more suitable for CPU-intensive applications.
