Conclusion

From the friendly robots:

DigitalOcean's Premium AMD instance outpaces Vultr's Cloud Compute (1 GB) in overall performance, notably excelling in Redis benchmark tests where it achieves significantly higher requests per second (rps) with lower latencies, such as 56,850 rps and an average latency of 0.557 ms for PING_INLINE compared to Vultr's 28,835 rps and 1.039 ms. For CPU-intensive tasks, DigitalOcean also leads, as evidenced by its superior performance in MySQL bulk insert tests, with a throughput of 81,811 TPS versus Vultr's 72,833 TPS. These superior benchmarks suggest that DigitalOcean's instance is more suitable for applications requiring high throughput and low latency, such as real-time data processing and high-performance web services.
