Linode Nanode (1 GB) vs. Vultr High Performance AMD (1 GB)
New day, new benchmarks. Today I've spun up some brand new instance from Linode and Vultr and ran my world famous suite of benchmarking scripts. Each instance was running Ubuntu 24.04 LTS x64 and all resided in or around the New York / New Jersey area. Let's get into the numbers.

Conclusion
From the friendly robots:
The Linode Nanode (1 GB) instance shows strong performance in CPU benchmarks and consistent low Redis latency, handling high RPS for Redis commands like PING_INLINE and GET, with impressive throughput rates in file I/O and memory operations. The Vultr High Performance AMD (1 GB) instance, while slightly faster in CPU operations with higher events per second and better thread fairness, slightly lags behind in Redis performance and file I/O throughput. However, it excels in MySQL operations, especially bulk inserts and OLTP tasks. In summary, the Linode instance is ideal for applications that require high I/O performance and consistent Redis latency, while the Vultr instance would be better suited for workloads heavily reliant on CPU operations and MySQL performance.
