Same showdown, different day. Today I spun up fresh instances from Linode and Vultr and ran my world famous suite of benchmarking scripts. Each instance was spun up with Ubuntu 26.04 LTS x64 and were created in the New York area (or close to it). Time to see who showed up today.

Conclusion
From the friendly robots:
The Vultr High Performance Intel (1 GB) instance outpaces the Linode Nanode (1 GB) in most benchmarks, notably excelling in Redis operations with higher requests per second (rps) and lower latencies. The Vultr instance also outperforms in CPU benchmarks, showing higher events per second and better thread fairness. For workloads that demand high throughput and low latency, such as Redis-heavy applications, the Vultr instance provides superior performance at a slightly higher price point.
