Welcome to another round of the VPS Showdown. Today I spun up fresh instances from DigitalOcean and Linode and did some benchmarking. All instances were running Ubuntu 26.04 LTS x64 and were created in the New York area (or close to it). Without further ado, here's the results.

Conclusion
From the friendly robots:
Based on the benchmark results, DigitalOcean's Premium AMD instance outperforms Linode's Nanode instance in most critical metrics. DigitalOcean shows higher Redis request rates per second in key operations like SET, GET, and LPUSH, along with lower average latencies. DigitalOcean also leads in CPU event handling and MySQL bulk insert operations. Linode excels in MySQL bulk insert throughput but falls short in other areas like Redis throughput and CPU latency. For users needing higher CPU performance, lower latencies, and more consistent Redis operations, DigitalOcean's instance is the better choice.
