My friend, I'm so glad you're here! Today I've got brand new instances from Linode and Vultr and ran some benchmarks. All instances were running Ubuntu 26.04 LTS x64 and all resided in or around the New York / New Jersey area. Without further ado, here's the results.

Conclusion

From the friendly robots:

Linode's 2 GB instance outperforms Vultr's 1 GB Cloud Compute in both Redis operations and CPU benchmarks, showing superior performance in metrics like higher RPS (Requests Per Second) rates and lower latencies in Redis commands. The Linode instance consistently outperforms the Vultr instance in Redis operations, with significantly higher RPS for operations like SET, GET, and INCR, and lower average latencies. For CPU performance, the Linode instance also leads with higher events per second and better thread fairness compared to the Vultr instance. Opt for the Linode instance if you need more CPU power and lower latency for database operations.
